WILLEMSTAD - Curaçao Airport Partners (CAP) is raising the airport tax at Hato airport from 1 January. On international flights passengers have to pay three dollars more per passenger and the rate is 45 dollars.
On the Bonaire route passengers will soon pay $ 16. That is now 15 dollars. Aruba and Sint Maarten go from 30 to 32 dollars per passenger.
Passengers in transit must pay $ 11 instead of $ 10 from January 1.
The new rates apply for two years.
PASSENGER FACILITY CHARGE
The passenger facility surcharge is a fee that is internationally included in the ticket price, but for regional destinations passengers often must pay separately at the airport.
This fee goes to the maintenance of the airport and its facilities and is part of the National Decree method for determining passenger facilities fees and landing and parking fees.
BORDER SECURITY
In addition to increasing passenger charges, the government is introducing - via CAP - a so-called border security rate of $ 1.32 per passenger. This is new and intended to optimize border surveillance.
