GroenLinks/PvdA wins in Aruba, Curaçao, and Sint-Maarten

WILLEMSTAD - Just like in the Netherlands, GroenLinks/PvdA also emerged victorious in the European Elections on the islands of Aruba, Curaçao, and Sint-Maarten. The party garnered over thirty percent of the votes, about 312 in total. The VVD came in second with 129 votes, followed by D66 with 126 votes. The PVV secured 112 votes. 

In total, 1033 registered voters cast a valid vote on the three islands, resulting in a turnout of 38.6 percent, staying below forty percent. The only Caribbean candidate on the lists was Kenville Kleinmoedig from GroenLinks/PvdA, who received 125 preferential votes. 

Curaçao 

Out of 1295 registered voters on Curaçao, 44 percent turned out. They cast 179 votes for GroenLinks/PvdA, representing nearly 31 percent of all votes on Curaçao. 

The VVD came in second with 86 votes (15 percent), and D66 was third with 65 votes (over eleven percent), just one more than the PVV, which received 64 votes. 

Aruba 

Of the 1184 registered voters on Aruba, nearly 33 percent went to the polling station. Here, GroenLinks/PvdA received the most votes, 114 in total, accounting for over 29 percent. 

The CDA came in second with 64 votes. D66 finished third with 42 votes, one more than the PVV. The VVD trailed behind the PVV with 36 votes. 

Sint-Maarten 

On Sint-Maarten, 197 voters cast their ballots, which was 37 percent of all registered voters. GroenLinks/PvdA and D66 tied for first place, each receiving 19 votes (26 percent). Both the VVD and PVV secured seven votes each, which is nearly ten percent of the votes.
