WILLEMSTAD – Several improvements have recently been made to the beaches of Caracasbaai, Baya Beach, and Directeursbaai as part of a broader government project to upgrade Curaçao’s beaches, according to an official press release.
The upgrades include the installation of new sustainable concrete benches and palapas: 12 at Caracasbaai, 8 palapas and 4 benches at Baya Beach, and 4 palapas with 4 benches at Directeursbaai.
Prime Minister Gilmar “Pik” Pisas (MFK), who personally visited the sites, stated that the improvements are intended to make the beaches more attractive for both locals and tourists while supporting sustainable tourism policies. He emphasized the importance of striking a balance between nature conservation, beach development, and economic growth.
“In the coming period, other beaches will also receive attention, and the community will be kept informed of developments,” the government added.
