Government launches road repair projects across Curaçao

WILLEMSTAD - The Minister of Public Works, Charles Cooper, along with the Public Works Department (OW), has announced a series of road repair projects aimed at improving infrastructure in various areas of Curaçao. The government will be investing a total of 8 million guilders in these upgrades, which will be executed by different contractors. 

The repair efforts will cover a wide range of neighborhoods, including: 

Seru Grandi (Banda Ariba) 

Seru Pretu and surrounding areas 

Tucacas, Kent U Zelf, and nearby neighborhoods 

Kaya Piro 

Vetter and surrounding areas 

Gato Phase 1 

Rancho area (Radio Krioyo/Bouwland/Big One) 

Wishi 

Piscaderaweg 

Paradijs and surrounding areas 

Noord Rozendaal 

Kaya Polkar (Dois) 

Souax Abou Phase 1 

Souax Pariba 

Ronde Klip (Hofi Cow) 

Maria Mai (Sun Valley - Samira Mattress Factory) 

Mina Scharbai (Schottegatweg West – Dande Supermarket) 

Amerikaweg 

Montagne 

Kaya Kachu

 

Minister Cooper emphasized the importance of these projects, which are designed to enhance road safety and accessibility for the public. The OW department is urging drivers to exercise caution when encountering construction zones to ensure the safety of workers and motorists alike. 

With this significant investment in road infrastructure, the government aims to address longstanding issues in key areas, enhancing connectivity and reducing road hazards throughout the island.
