Minister Shalten Hato of the ministry of BPD announces initiative.
WILLEMSTAD – On Thursday, December 19, 2024, the government officially launched one of its projects aimed at advancing and benefiting all public sector employees of Curaçao. Minister Shalten Hato of the Ministry of Governance, Planning, and Public Services (BPD) proudly announced the launch of the government’s very own Online Academy.
Following a trial period involving 500 civil servants, the government has decided to make the Online Academy accessible to all public sector employees. This expansion means that no fewer than 900 e-learning courses are now available, giving an additional 900 civil servants access to these digital courses.
We are living in a digital era where communication and access to information increasingly take place through digital technology, virtual platforms, social media, and mobile devices. The world is rapidly changing with the innovations available today. Digitalization, new technologies, and challenges within our community demand a flexible and well-prepared government.
With the Online Academy, we are creating a flexible and accessible learning environment that supports all civil servants in their personal and professional development. We are investing in our public sector employees to help them learn and grow while simultaneously improving the quality of services provided to the people of Curaçao.
