Government Launches Final Phase of “From You, For You, With You” Waste-Disposal Campaign in Eastern Region

WILLEMSTAD - The Government of Curaçao and the Ministry of Health, Environment and Nature (GMN) are inviting residents of the island’s eastern region to safely dispose of bulk waste as the “Di Bo, Pa Bo, Ku Bo” cleanup campaign enters its final phase.

Starting the weekend of 22 and 23 November, and continuing for three consecutive weekends, large waste containers will be placed in several eastern neighborhoods, including Montaña, FuikCaracasbaaiAbrahamsz and Bonam. Residents can bring their bulk waste to these designated locations free of charge.

Schedule for Zone 4: East

Waste containers will be available in the eastern region on:

Saturday 22 & Sunday 23 November

Saturday 29 & Sunday 30 November

Saturday 6 & Sunday 7 December

Residents may dispose of waste from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at any of the listed locations.

Container Locations in the Eastern Zone

The exact drop-off sites for Zone East are:

Fuik – Rodricon

Montaña – Cas Grandi (former Hit 100.3 location)

Caracasbaai – Brakkeput

Abrahamsz/Bonam – Arco Iris Supermarket

The eastern region is the last zone to participate in this island-wide cleanup campaign. However, if residents from other zones still need to dispose of bulk waste, they may also use these containers on the specified dates.

Strong Results From Previous Zones

The campaign has already seen impressive results:

148,000 kg of waste collected in the Western region

303,000 kg collected in the Northern region

Figures for the Southern region are expected soon

These totals exclude waste removed from illegal dump sites that were cleaned up during the campaign.

Government Calls for Continued Cooperation

The Government and GMN say the results show that the “Di Bo, Pa Bo, Ku Bo” initiative is working. However, they warn that some residents continue to dump waste at former container sites or during the week when no containers are available.

They urge the public to continue disposing of waste responsibly even after the campaign ends — by separating recyclables and delivering non-recyclable waste to Selikor landfills at Malpais or Koraalspecht, or using regular household waste collection services.

Invitation to the Eastern Community

Residents of the eastern region are encouraged to take advantage of the free service over the next three weekends. The government reminds everyone to transport waste safely and to bring it only to the official container sites.

“Zone East — it’s your turn,” the ministry said. “Let’s work together to keep our island clean.”
