THE HAGUE - The Financial Supervision Committee today published a letter in which quite a few critical notes are presented about the draft budget for 2019 of Curaçao.

The letter - addressed to Minister Kenneth Gijsbertha of Finance - dates from 28 November. Unknown is what action the Cabinet Rhuggenaath has taken since then to follow up on the points presented by the members of the Cft.

The Cft finds the proposed cost savings insufficient and tax revenues overestimated.

The comments of the Cft give a clear picture of the government's struggle in Willemstad to make ends meet.
