WILLEMSTAD - Independent Parliamentarian Zita Jesus-Leito and Michelangelo ‘Lo’ Martines, member of the one-man KEM faction, have officially declared in writing that they are joining the Pisas II cabinet. This was announced by the Ministry of General Affairs on Thursday through a press release. There are reports that Corinne Djaoen Genaro has separated from the PNP and continue as an independent parliamentarian, potentially joining the new coalition, though this has not yet been officially confirmed.
Each parliamentarian will now nominate a candidate for a ministerial position in the cabinet. These candidates will undergo the standard screening process before being officially appointed by the governor.
In the meantime, the responsibilities of the PNP ministers who have resigned will be temporarily divided among the five current MFK ministers.
The three PNP ministers, Ruisandro Cijntje, Ornelio ‘Kid’ Martina, and Ruthmilda ‘Mimi’ Larmonie-Cecilia, officially submitted their resignation to the governor on Wednesday after the MFK faction withdrew its confidence in the PNP coalition partner.
