WILLEMSTAD - The Ministry of Health, Environment, and Nature (GMN) has commenced the construction of new restrooms at Kleine Knip beach. This public beach is a favorite among locals and tourists alike, but has previously lacked adequate toilet facilities, leading to dangerous situations, according to the ministry. To address this issue, the ministry plans to install restrooms at the lower end of the beach.
The project has already gone through the necessary design, approval, and construction permitting processes. The construction is expected to take approximately nine weeks.
The Ministry of GMN is making efforts to minimize disruptions for beachgoers and has apologized for any inconvenience caused by the construction activities. Unlike previous building plans for locations such as Caracasbaai, Jeremi, and Lagun, which faced significant protests, the construction of new restrooms is viewed as a relatively minor intervention.
The ministry's proactive approach aims to enhance the visitor experience at one of Curaçao's most beloved beaches while ensuring public health and safety.
