Government Approves Increase in Vacation Allowance for Civil Servants

WILLEMSTAD — During its meeting on Wednesday, June 11, 2025, the Council of Ministers approved an important decision affecting public sector employees: a higher vacation allowance for civil servants.

The measure involves an amendment to the current regulation governing vacation and leave entitlements for civil servants. Specifically, it includes an increase in the vacation allowance, which is part of the broader efforts to improve the benefits and working conditions of government employees.

The proposal was submitted on June 5, 2025, and officially approved during the June 11 Council meeting. The Minister of Governance, Planning and Public Services has been authorized to sign a formal agreement on behalf of the Government of Curaçao to implement the changes.

This decision marks a positive development for civil servants, who have long awaited adjustments to their compensation packages amid inflation and growing economic pressures. Further details about the exact amount of the increase and its implementation timeline are expected to be shared soon.
