WILLEMSTAD – Curaçao's government has held talks with senior executives of Liberty Global and Flow regarding current and future investments on the island, highlighting the importance of telecommunications infrastructure to the country's economic development.
Prime Minister Gilmar Pisas, together with Ministers Sithree van Heydoorn, Charles Cooper and Roderick Middelhof, met with executives from Liberty Caribbean and Flow to discuss a range of topics related to Curaçao's growth and modernization.
During the meeting, company representatives presented information about ongoing projects and future plans in Curaçao. The discussions focused on areas of mutual interest and opportunities to contribute to the island's continued progress.
Reliable telecommunications infrastructure has become increasingly important for Curaçao as the island seeks to strengthen its digital economy, attract investment, improve government services, and support sectors such as tourism, education, financial services, and remote work.
Liberty Global, through its Caribbean subsidiary Liberty Caribbean and the Flow brand, is one of the region's largest telecommunications providers and has invested heavily in broadband, mobile communications, and digital services throughout the Caribbean.
According to the government, the meeting allowed both parties to exchange views on how cooperation between the public and private sectors can contribute to economic growth and future development opportunities.
Officials described the discussions as constructive and noted that the meeting reflected a shared commitment to supporting Curaçao’s long-term development through continued investment and innovation.
