WILLEMSTAD, KRALENDIJK – Hundreds of households in Curaçao and Bonaire have been facing delays in the delivery of large gas cylinders (100 lbs) for over two weeks due to a temporary shortage of usable gas tanks.
The suppliers—Curgas in Curaçao and Curoil in Bonaire—are struggling to meet demand after a significant number of gas cylinders were pulled from circulation. The tanks were rejected during safety inspections due to signs of wear or damage.
The shortage has affected approximately 250 customers in Curaçao and 350 in Bonaire, all of whom are currently waiting for their gas deliveries.
Both companies have issued apologies for the inconvenience and stated that the situation is expected to return to normal within two to three weeks.
