WILLEMSTAD - Consumers in Curaçao will soon see some relief in their utility and fuel costs. The Regulatory Authority of Curaçao (RAC) announced that regulated fuel, electricity, and water prices will decrease at the start of November.
According to the RAC’s monthly price bulletin, the new rates will take effect on Saturday, November 1, for electricity and water, and on Tuesday, November 4, for gasoline and diesel.
The price of gasoline will drop by 4 cents per liter, bringing the new price to 2.046 Caribbean guilders. Diesel will become 2 cents cheaper, costing 1.612 XG per liter.
The RAC, which monitors the pricing of petroleum products and public utilities, attributes the price adjustments to fluctuations in global oil markets and updated cost assessments in the energy sector.
While the reductions are modest, the announcement comes as welcome news to both households and businesses facing higher living expenses in recent months. The RAC emphasized that it will continue to monitor market conditions and make further adjustments as necessary.
