WILLEMSTAD - A man shot another man to death in the night from Saturday to Sunday at the Hariri roundabout. It would be a former police officer in Sint Maarten. Prior to the shooting, one car crashed into another. Subsequently, there were shots fired, whereby one person was killed, and another seriously wounded.
On social media, the deceased was identified as Clement Niven Van Thijs. He recently left the Sint Maarten police force and moved to Curaçao. It is not yet known how many people are involved in this horrendous case.
The spokesperson for the police force Maurits Rosalina explains to the media that there will be more information once the family of the deceased person has been informed.
