Former PAR MP Ana-Maria Pauletta Calls for Transparency on Cabinet Travel

WILLEMSTAD – Former Member of Parliament for the PAR, Ana-Maria Pauletta, has voiced concerns about what she sees as the large number of official trips taken by members of the Pisas-III Cabinet. While stressing that she is not issuing direct criticism, Pauletta said she is advocating for greater transparency regarding ministers’ travel activities.

Pauletta, who served in Parliament until May of this year and now works as a staff member for the PAR faction, indicated that her concern lies in the lack of accountability. According to her, ministers often travel abroad on official duty without informing Parliament or the public about what was accomplished.

She emphasized that transparency in this area is vital to ensure that citizens are aware of the purpose and outcomes of such government missions, especially in light of the island’s ongoing social and economic challenges.

The remarks add to a growing debate about government spending and accountability, with critics urging the Pisas-III Cabinet to provide clearer communication about the necessity, costs, and benefits of its international trips.
