WILLEMSTAD – Former notary Johnny Kleinmoedig has been permanently removed from his position due to prolonged financial misconduct, including embezzling over 1.4 million guilders and involvement in money laundering activities. This decision was confirmed by the court.
The ruling follows a lengthy disciplinary and criminal case, which revealed that Kleinmoedig had consistently violated his professional duties and severely damaged the trust of his clients.
The court found it proven that over a period of more than ten years, Kleinmoedig embezzled funds from third parties and transferred them into his own accounts. In 2023, he was temporarily suspended, and in 2024, he was sentenced to six months of conditional imprisonment and 240 hours of community service.
According to the court, Kleinmoedig did not act in the interest of his clients or society but was solely motivated by personal financial gain.
With this ruling, Kleinmoedig’s removal from office is now final and permanent, meaning he is no longer allowed to practice as a notary.
