Local | By Correspondent October 21, 2024

WILLEMSTAD - Former Minister of Economic Development, Ruisandro Cijntje, has expressed great satisfaction with the completion of the water and electricity reconnection project that he initiated during his term in office. In collaboration with the Ministry of Social Affairs, Labor, and Welfare, under the leadership of Minister Ruthmilda Larmonie-Cecilia, Cijntje spearheaded efforts to reconnect water and electricity to all households in Curaçao by October/November 2024.

Cijntje highlighted that, as mentioned during the public meeting in Parliament on May 23, 2024, he and his team worked tirelessly to achieve this goal. He expressed gratitude that the KEM faction continued with the plans he set in motion, ensuring that families across the island can celebrate the upcoming holidays in dignified conditions, something close to his heart.

He also expressed confidence that the reconnection would be a lasting solution, preventing affected households from falling back into such precarious circumstances in the future.

Cijntje remains hopeful that other projects he initiated during his tenure will continue to make progress. The vision and leadership he brought to this project, he said, reflect his commitment to the people of Curaçao, and he is pleased to see the results of their collective efforts beginning to take shape.
