WILLEMSTAD - Five former Dutch Defense homes in Kwartje sold for significantly higher amounts than their initial asking prices during last week’s public auction. The properties were purchased for prices ranging between 400,000 and 442,000 guilders, despite the highest starting bid beginning at 338,000 guilders.
The auction concerned the homes located at Kaya Garoeda 6, 9, 10, 11 and 18 in the Kwartje neighborhood of Bándariba. Before the sale, the properties were opened to the public during viewing days held on October 16 and October 21.
Each home was auctioned individually at Fung-A-Loi & Samandar Notaries, where a strong turnout and competitive bidding drove prices well above expectations.
Strong Interest Following Widespread Promotion
The auction was preceded by prominent advertisements in local newspapers, and full property information was also made available through the website of the Rijksvastgoedbedrijf, the Dutch government’s real estate agency under the Ministry of Housing and Spatial Planning.
The combination of public viewings, broad promotion, and strong demand contributed to the high sale prices of these former Defense residences.
Additional similar homes in the area are expected to follow the same sales procedure at a later date.
