WILLEMSTAD - Two former directors of the Health Insurance Bureau (BZV) have acted contrary to the law and the articles of association. The two were sentenced on appeal to pay 4 million guilders in damages.
BZV reported suspicions of financial irregularities. According to the judges, the former directors squandered money between May 2011 and May 2012.
That was a turbulent period with the integration of BZV in SVB (Social Insurance Bank), the face mask affair, and almost 3 million guilders' worth of assignments for an accountancy firm. The former directors can still appeal.
