Formateur Submits Final Report for Formation of Pisas III Cabinet

WILLEMSTAD – Formateur Chester Peterson is set to submit his final report today to Governor Lucille George-Wout regarding the formation of the new Pisas III Cabinet. After two earlier interim reports, expectations are high that Peterson will now provide conclusive details about the proposed team of ministers and the governing program.

The incoming Pisas III Cabinet will be composed entirely of members from the MFK party, which secured 13 out of 21 seats in the March 21 elections. This absolute majority allows MFK to form a government without coalition partners and independently nominate all ministers.

In recent weeks, under the Governor's mandate, Peterson has overseen both the drafting of the new coalition’s policy agenda and the integrity screening process for the candidate ministers. The screening, a standard procedure in Curaçao’s government formation process, was conducted under the supervision of several oversight bodies, including the national security service of Curaçao.

Despite rumors suggesting that some candidates may have been rejected during the vetting process, no such reports have been officially confirmed. Governor George-Wout stated that as of May 20 — the date of Peterson’s last interim report — not all screening results had been received. However, sources have now confirmed that Peterson obtained the remaining results last week and subsequently held follow-up conversations with the candidates to clarify final issues.

According to morning newspaper Èxtra, nearly all — if not all — candidates have since signed their formal declarations, signaling that no significant obstacles remain for the swearing-in ceremony.

The expected ministers in the Pisas III Cabinet are:

Gilmar ‘Pik’ Pisas

Javier Silvania

Charles Cooper

Charetti America-Francisca

Sithree van Heydoorn

Sharlten Hato

Kimberly Lew-Jen-Tai

Roderick Middelhof

In addition to the list of nominees, Peterson's final report is also expected to confirm the completion of the governing program, paving the way for the official installation of the new cabinet.

The swearing-in is anticipated to take place in the coming days, marking the beginning of MFK’s new term in office with full governing authority.
