Formateur C. Peterson Provides Interim Report to Governor on Cabinet Formation Progress

WILLEMSTAD – On the afternoon of May 20, 2025, formateur C. Peterson presented his second interim report on the cabinet formation process and the development of the new governing program to Her Excellency Lucille George-Wout, Governor of Curaçao.

In his update, Peterson informed the Governor that several government services responsible for conducting integrity screenings—mandated by the National Ordinance on the Integrity of (Candidate) Ministers—have completed their investigations into the proposed ministers. However, he noted that he is still awaiting the completion of assessments for the remaining candidates.

Simultaneously, work continues on drafting the new governing program that will outline the cabinet’s policy goals and strategic direction.

During the meeting, the Governor reiterated the importance of strict adherence to the National Ordinance, emphasizing that both the letter and the spirit of the law must be upheld throughout the formation process.

Peterson is expected to submit his next progress report to the Governor no later than June 2, 2025.
