WILLEMSTAD - The Dutch National Forensic Investigation Bureau (NFO) is opening a branch in Curaçao to better serve clients in the Caribbean region. The organization announced this on its website. Recently, NFO supported the Knoops Advocaten team in the Rombley revision case.

The expansion is a response to the growing demand for forensic services in the Caribbean region. The new branch focuses on various types of forensic investigation, including digital research, handwriting analysis, image investigation, and investigations into injury and causes of death.

"With NFO Caribbean, we are better able to respond to the specific needs of our clients in the Caribbean region," says a spokesperson for NFO. "This enables us to react more quickly and efficiently to forensic issues."

Notable cases

NFO has played a significant role in various notable cases in the Caribbean region, such as the Rombley case in Curaçao, in collaboration with Knoops Advocaten.

NFO also played a role in the investigation surrounding the failed takeover of the Curaçao Isla refinery, where there was falsification of financial documents in the Caribbean Petroleum Refinery (CPR) process.

NFO Caribbean works closely with the existing location in the Netherlands to share knowledge and resources. "We look forward to entering into new collaborations and strengthening our existing relationships in this region," said the NFO spokesperson.
