WILLEMSTAD - The youth who participated in the "Social Development Program (SVT)" or "Un Komienso Nobo" at the Suffisant Marine Barracks have received their certificates. Under the guidance of Defense, this group of youth commenced the first phase of the program on August 21, 2023. Over a four-month period, they learned military-style values such as discipline, self-respect, structure, resilience, trust, and a sense of responsibility.
On Thursday, November 30, 2023, a group of 12 youths received their certificates, along with recognition of their achievements, during a brief ceremony.
Next Phase These 12 youths will immediately transition to the second phase, the Apprenticeship Program (LWT), under the supervision of the implementing organization Funditut. In this phase, the youths continue their preparation for a role that aligns with their capabilities in the job market. With these two phases, the government of Curaçao, in collaboration with Defense, offers a future perspective, a fresh start, to this group of young individuals.
