FOL contract renewed

WILLEMSTAD - The American FOL base located at Hato airport will remain in Curaçao after November next year. The Dutch Minister of Foreign Affairs Stef Blok writes this to the Second Chamber of the Dutch Parliament.

The contract between the Netherlands and the United States will then be extended. The Americans have been in Curaçao since 2000. The FOL base is officially used for anti-narcotics from the air.

Between October 2018 and September 2019, 385 flights were operated from Hato airport. 280,000 kilos of cocaine and 24,000 kilos of marijuana were intercepted.
