Flow Responds to Widespread Service Disruptions, Promises Stability Ahead

Local, | By Correspondent February 11, 2026

WILLEMSTAD – Residents across Curaçao have expressed growing frustration over weeks of interruptions to internet, telephone and television services from telecommunications provider Flow, but the company says the worst of the outages will soon be behind customers.

The service disruptions have affected multiple neighborhoods, leaving thousands without reliable connectivity. Many residents reported repeated outages over the recent weekend, compounding frustration with ongoing problems that have persisted for weeks.

In a statement addressing the concerns, Flow acknowledged the public frustration and said the issues are linked to a combination of external damage to infrastructure and internal technical upgrades. The company explained that in addition to incidents such as fiber-optic cables being damaged during routine roadside trimming, an upgrade to its technical platform has contributed to service interruptions for a significant group of users.

Flow revealed that around 7,000 customers who use its voice, broadband, television and HubTV services were inadvertently left on the old system during the platform upgrade, delaying their transfer to the new network. Identifying and migrating these customers manually has taken longer than expected, the company said.

The provider said it is working urgently to restore full service to all affected customers and pledged that similar widespread disruptions will not recur once the migration is complete. According to Flow, the new platform promises improved stability and continuity that should offer tangible benefits for users.

Customers who continue to experience issues are encouraged to contact Flow’s customer service for support. The company’s commitment to future network reliability underscores its effort to rebuild trust after the recent breakdowns.

Many residents took to social media in recent days to vent their dissatisfaction and seek updates on service restoration — a reflection of the increasing reliance on connectivity for daily life and work. Despite the inconvenience, Flow’s assurances offer a potential end to the disruptions that have tested patience across the island.
