WILLEMSTAD - Despite earlier reports suggesting a potential shortage of fireworks on the ABC islands, supplies will be available for the year-end celebrations.
This news was confirmed by a major fireworks importer, who, in collaboration with a shipping company, has found a logistical solution to secure the delivery of fireworks containers.
Initially, there were issues with the delivery of a total of 30 fireworks containers intended for Aruba, Curaçao, and Bonaire. Capacity problems in Jamaica prevented the containers from being unloaded, raising concerns that the islands would be left without fireworks for the New Year’s celebrations.
After discussions, an alternative route was decided upon, allowing the containers to be transported through a different location. Thanks to the assistance of a shipping company, the fireworks containers are now expected to arrive in Aruba and Curaçao by the end of October or early November, with an additional 2 to 3 containers headed for Bonaire, well in time for the holiday festivities.
