WILLEMSTAD – Outgoing Finance Minister Javier Silvania has informed Parliament that he will be traveling to Toronto and Miami from May 13 to May 20 to attend meetings related to cryptocurrency. The minister did not specify which conferences or events he would be participating in.
The timing of his visit to Toronto coincides with the Blockchain Futurist Conference, which is taking place on May 13. However, it remains unclear which cryptocurrency-related events are scheduled in Miami during that same week.
Prior to this trip, Minister Silvania attended the annual meetings of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the World Bank in Washington, D.C., from April 18 to 25. That gathering focused on a wide range of financial and socio-economic issues and brought together finance ministers, central bank representatives, and global policymakers.
Silvania’s recent travel highlights Curaçao’s engagement with international financial trends, including digital innovation and crypto markets, as well as the island’s participation in global economic discussions.
