WILLEMSTAD - The Government of Curaçao and the Ministry of Health, Environment, and Nature (GMN) are inviting all residents in the neighborhoods of Sta. Rosa, Saliña/Steenrijk, Jongbloed/Mahaai, Marchena/Wishi, and Otrobanda to take advantage of the final weekend of free bulk waste collection in the southern region of the island.
On Saturday, November 15, and Sunday, November 16, residents can dispose of their bulk waste free of charge at the following strategic collection points, open from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.:
Sta. Rosa: Seru Loraweg
Saliña/Steenrijk: SUBT
Jongbloed/Mahaai: Snipweg/Chuchubiweg
Marchena/Wishi: Palu Blanku
Otrobanda: Entrance of Roodeweg
The next and final phase of the campaign, “Di bo, Pa bo, Ku bo” (“From you, For you, With you”), will take place in Zone 4: East, on the weekend of November 22 and 23.
Results from Previous Zones
Earlier this year, collection drives were held in Zone 1 (West) and Zone 2 (North), where residents made full use of the opportunity to safely dispose of their household bulk waste for free.
In Zone 1 (West), a total of 148,000 kilograms of waste was collected.
In Zone 2 (North), that figure more than doubled, reaching 303,300 kilograms.
These impressive results demonstrate that the campaign has been not only successful in cleaning up Curaçao, but also effective in raising awareness about the importance of a clean and sustainable environment.
Working Together for a Cleaner Curaçao
The “Di bo, Pa bo, Ku bo” campaign is more than just a cleanup effort — it’s an awareness initiative focused on shared responsibility. The Government and GMN are encouraging residents to participate actively, not only by disposing of their waste properly but also by sorting and recycling reusable materials.
When everyone does their part, Curaçao becomes not only cleaner but also a source of pride for future generations.
