Fifth suspect arrested in Curaçao port on suspicion of placing drugs in shipping containers

WILLEMSTAD - This morning, in Curaçao, the Joint Investigation Team (RST) in collaboration with the Curaçao Police Force and Customs, arrested another suspect allegedly involved in placing cocaine in containers destined for Europe. The arrested individual is identified as F.R.F., aged 37. The arrest was carried out on the orders of the Public Prosecution Service. 

 

Following the arrest, two residences were searched under the supervision of an examining magistrate. F.R.F. is suspected of being involved in the trafficking of large quantities of cocaine through the port at Schottegat, Curaçao, with the final destination being Europe. 

 

Previously, three security guards and a dockmaster were arrested for their involvement in placing significant amounts of cocaine in containers over an extended period. These men are still in detention. The specific role of the new suspect has not been disclosed.
