WILLEMSTAD - Young footballers from Curaçao will have the opportunity to participate in the Feyenoord Camp starting Monday. The camp will take place from July 8 to 12 at the Stadion di Subt and the adjacent CVV Willemstad.
During the five days of the camp, all children must be present at 8 a.m. Sessions will be held from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at both stadiums. The trainers for the Feyenoord Camp are Dencho Narcisio, Justin Tyrol, and Samuel Scheimann.
Throughout the camp, the trainers will introduce the methodology used at Feyenoord. Additionally, ten local trainers will receive a course to familiarize them with the system Feyenoord employs.
A total of 150 children, ranging in age from U-8 to U-18, will participate in the Feyenoord Camp. After the camp, at least one standout player will have the chance to participate in a week-long tryout with Feyenoord.
According to Curaçaoan trainer Dencho Narcisio, a player who wants to attend the tryout must possess certain qualities. He must love football, have the right mentality and positive energy, show discipline, have an adequate technical level, and possess tactical knowledge.
The plan is for the Feyenoord Camp to become an annual event in Curaçao.
