WILLEMSTAD - On Monday, November 4, Ministers Charles Cooper and Sithree van Heydoorn signed an agreement with the Foundation Fundashon Desaroyo Deportivo Kòrsou (FDDK), giving FDDK responsibility for coordinating and managing various sports fields in Curaçao. This task was previously managed by SEDREKO.

Under the agreement, FDDK will now handle the allocation and management of these sports fields. This includes establishing agreements for field usage and conducting or overseeing inspections. FDDK is also authorized to grant usage rights to third parties for these sports facilities.
Domain Management will remain closely involved in the allocation process, providing guidance, preparing reports, and conducting inspections. The Ministry of Education, Science, Culture, and Sport (OWCS), together with Domain Management, will oversee FDDK’s new role as the coordinator of sports fields.
The ministers highlighted that not all government-owned lands designated for sports activities will be managed by FDDK; certain fields are excluded from this agreement.
