WILLEMSTAD – The Fundashon Desaroyo Deportivo Kòrsou (FDDK) will be responsible for organizing the 18th edition of the "Helping Others Preserve & Excel" (HOPE) Softball Tournament, which will kick off on March 15 at the Van Engelen Ballpark.
The main goal of the HOPE Tournament is to raise funds to support organizations in need while motivating and giving company employees the opportunity to engage in sports, compete in a healthy and friendly manner, strengthen team-building, and foster new friendships.
Following a successful 2024 edition, organized by the Van Engelen Foundation, the Minister of Education, Science, Culture, and Sports, Sithree van Heydoorn, approached FDDK to take over the organizational responsibilities for the HOPE Softball Tournament in order to ensure its continuity. The minister also emphasized the importance of maintaining the tournament’s disciplinary and social competition aspects, encouraging more people to get involved in sports.
As the organization responsible for promoting sports and physical activity in the community, FDDK has taken on this challenge with enthusiasm and is committed to making this year’s tournament just as successful as previous editions. In 2025, special attention will be given to awards such as "Good Sportsmanship" and "Best Fan Base" in each category.
