WILLEMSTAD - The Fundashon Desaroyo Deportivo Kòrsou (FDDK) is excited to announce that the new grass at Ergilio Hato Stadium has received its official certification, valid until year 2027. This achievement is a significant milestone in our ongoing efforts to elevate the quality of sports facilities in Curaçao, moving closer to our vision of making the stadium a national symbol and a premier venue for sports.

The announcement was made official during a press conference on November 12, 2024, attended by notable figures including Minister Sithree van Heydoorn, who shared his enthusiasm, stating; This certification reflects our commitment to high-quality sports infrastructure and the importance of providing our athletes with top-notch facilities. The Ergilio Hato Stadium’s certification is essential in our goal to support both local and international competitions.

FDDK Director, Mr. Vergilly Winklar, expressed his pride in the successful completion of the project; With the expertise of 'GCC Sport Surfaces' from London and our local technical team, we have transformed the soccer field of Ergilio Hato Stadium into a high-quality surface. This certification reaffirms our dedication to providing quality facilities for our athletes and is a significant step for local sports.

This result is a testament to the precision and efforts of everyone involved, from the removal of the old turf to the careful installation of the new grass and marking of the field.

FDDK remains committed in promoting local sports development and invites the people of Curaçao to attend the matches of our national team at Ergilio Hato Stadium on November 15 and 18. Let’s get together to support our players on their journey toward qualifying for the 2026 World Cup!
