WILLEMSTAD - A fatal traffic accident shook the early morning hours of Saturday, August 26, 2023, as the Police Central received distressing reports of a vehicular collision on Schottegatweg-Oost, resulting in one person being gravely injured.
Responding swiftly to the urgent call, police units were dispatched to the scene, where a family car had come to a halt with a driver who was no longer showing signs of life.
Initial investigations reveal that the driver of the involved vehicle had been navigating Schottegatweg-Oost towards the Biesheuvel direction. For reasons yet to be determined, the driver veered the car onto the central divider of the road. In a moment of loss of control, the vehicle crossed over into the opposite traffic lane (towards Zuikertuintje direction), before violently colliding with the wall of a business on the roadside.
Tragically, the victim sustained multiple injuries and succumbed to the accident on-site. The deceased has been identified as Germsley Francis Eldrich Garcia, born in Curaçao on April 30, 1983.
