Family of the deceased wants Serphos to be treated like any other criminal suspect

WILLEMSTAD – According to Julius Koko, the community actives who is assisting the family of Wladimir Alberto, who died after a traffic accident on the Juliana Bridge, wants the former press officer of the Public Prosecution (OM) to be treated just like any other suspect in a criminal case.

After that accident, Norman Serphos reacted inappropriately to the death of Alberto. The family and several people in the community condemned Serphos’ remarks as very inappropriate for a man in such a public position.

Serphos filed a complaint with the police citing that someone had hacked his Facebook account. However, shortly before the turn of the year, it became clear that Serphos had placed the reaction himself on the Facebook page of Alberto.

The OM indicated yesterday in a press release that Serphos has been denied entry to the building and the system of the Public Prosection. The OM is now in the process of requesting his dismissal. The OM also indicated that they Aruban authorities will conduct an investigation into Serphos’ criminal behavior, meaning that he had filed a false complaint.

But for Julius Koko and the family of the deceased, this is not enough. They want Serphos to be arrested and interrogated for 6 hours minimum just like it is done with any other suspect in a criminal case.

It was Julius Koko who assisted the family in filing a complaint against Norman Serphos.
