WILLEMSTAD - The Ministry of Justice of Curaçao has extended the submission deadline for the terms of reference of three short films, which are part of an awareness campaign against human trafficking and smuggling. Originally scheduled for an earlier date, interested parties now have until May 31, 2024, to submit their proposals.
These films are intended to increase awareness about human trafficking and smuggling within the community and to make undesirable situations recognizable so they can be reported. They should not only have deterrent effects on those involved in these practices but also encourage victims to seek help and share their stories.
It is important that the films be produced in Papiamento, with options for subtitles or dubbing in Spanish, in accordance with the agreements with the ministry. The ministry also emphasizes that all content will be branded as government material, with intellectual property strictly belonging to the Curaçao government.
The production of the films involves close collaboration with the Ministry of Justice to ensure that the content aligns with other communication materials and meets the strict conditions set. Prior approval of scripts and storyboards by the ministry is a requirement before production can commence.
The target audience of this campaign includes the entire society of Curaçao, with special attention to vulnerable groups such as victims, youth, and migrants or undocumented individuals. The campaign will be disseminated through both traditional and social media, with any form of dissemination outside of these channels requiring written consent from the Ministry of Justice.
With this extension, the Ministry of Justice hopes to receive more high-quality proposals and thereby increase the effectiveness of the campaign. Potential participants are encouraged to utilize the extra time to meet all requirements and submit their best work.
