Exchange program for prison staff Aruba, Bonaire and Curaçao

Local | By Correspondent August 30, 2022

KRALENDIJK - Employees from the Sentro di Detenshon i Korekshon Korsou (SDKK) prizon participate in a joint exchange program together with employees from the prisons in Aruba and Bonaire. The aim of the program is to exchange knowledge and experience between the different establishments.

The program takes place at the Judicial Institution Caribbean Netherlands (JICN) on Bonaire. During the exchange, various topics are discussed in the field of reintegration and the treatment of detainees.

Guards and correctional institutions from Aruba and Curaçao are linked to an employee of the JICN. By means of the twin system, employees gain insight into the various protocols and working methods within the JICN. The program lasts three weeks per group. The prison on Sint Maarten will also become part of the exchange at a later stage.

The exchange program is expected to continue through December, in order to provide as many staff as possible with the opportunity to work directly with a colleague from one of the other prisons. The directors of all facilities are on Bonaire on Monday and Tuesday for the kick-off of the project.
