Energis invests 20 million to convert waste into biofuel

WILLEMSTAD - The company Energis has built a special production facility that converts organic waste into biofuels. The company officially opens its doors in June at the Dok, but recently received a visit from Prime Minister Pisas and Minister Larmonie-Cecilia. In the factory, organic waste, used plastic, and used oils are converted into biofuel or fuel oil for reuse. Energis has invested 20 million in the factory and aims to become a major exporter of renewable energy in the Caribbean within 20 years.

The organization plans to expand the processes further and greatly increase production capacity. This could position Curaçao as a strong exporter in the Caribbean. The factory is the first in the entire Caribbean region to facilitate this process.
