Local | By Correspondent March 8, 2024

WILLEMSTAD - On Friday morning, employees of the Betèsda care center took action. The staff is said to be disappointed with how things are being handled at the institution and is unwilling to continue working under the current director.

In the care center, unrest has reportedly prevailed over the past few days regarding the financial situation in which the nursing home finds itself. Salary payments and the purchase of new equipment are said to be delayed, despite the additional subsidy promised to Betèsda.

Annaliza Suares-Mathilda, president of the CBV union, went to Betèsda to complain that no one from the management team has come forward to engage in discussions with the employees. In the meantime, there has also been contact with the Minister of Health, Javier Silvania (MFK). According to him, there are too many signals that things are not going well.
