Local | By Correspondent January 10, 2024

WILLEMSTAD - The cruise ship Emerald Azzurra, part of the Emerald Cruises fleet, made its first-ever visit to Curaçao on January 10, 2024, setting the stage for an inaugural ceremony to commemorate the occasion.

To mark the significance of its maiden voyage to the port of Curaçao, an onboard ceremony unfolded, featuring a symbolic exchange of plaques. The ship's captain, representatives from the Curaçao Ports Authority (CPA), the ship's agent Maduro Shipping, and the Immigration Department participated in this gesture of maritime tradition.

Emerald Azzurra, delivered by Emerald Yacht Cruises in 2020, stands as a luxurious cruise yacht boasting a maximum capacity of 100 individuals. During its sojourn in Curaçao, the vessel hosted 36 passengers. With a length of 110 meters and a tonnage of 5,175 GRT, it adds to the array of opulent cruise options available to travelers.

On the same noteworthy day, two additional cruise ships, Celebrity Reflection and Rhapsody of the Seas, were also present in the harbor, each moored at Mega Pier Tula and Mega Pier Jackie Voges, respectively.

Sint Anna Bay saw the presence of three more yachts, enhancing the maritime scene—Barbara at Kleine Werf, ICE at Salazarkade, and Douce France, a sailing yacht elegantly docked at Jan Baardakade.
