WILLEMSTAD - Last night, the "Embracing The Past" exhibition was opened at Villa Maria. This exhibition delves into the theme of the life of a person enslaved. Visitors can explore various short films during the exhibition that shed light on the experiences of people living in slavery.

The project, initiated by Rovendley Welvaart and his team, has been in development since June 2023 and is now finally ready to be presented to the public of Curaçao. The exhibition features stories written by individuals such as Elia Isenia, Dimitri Cloose, and Yuriën Stewart, and is directed by Rovendley Welvaart, Misael Emersilia (Netherlands), and Sendion Balentin (Bonaire).
"Embracing The Past" offers an immersive experience, allowing visitors to feel and experience what they see. The cinematography for the films is handled by Angelo Lourens, Rush Rosalia, Nathan Roosberg, and Trusty Films.
The exhibition will be open until January 31 at Villa Maria in Scharloo, daily from 10:00 AM to 7:00 PM.
