Local | By Correspondent April 29, 2024

ALMELO - After more than 15 years at the helm, Elwin Groenevelt, the founder and CEO of Qredits, is set to leave the organization at the end of 2024. Since its establishment in 2009, Groenevelt has played a pivotal role in shaping Qredits into a leading microfinance organization not only in the Netherlands but also across Europe. With a team of over 140 employees, Qredits has become synonymous with empowering entrepreneurs and fostering economic growth.

Under Groenevelt's leadership, Qredits has provided vital financial support to nearly 40,000 entrepreneurs, totaling over €800 million in financing. Additionally, the organization has guided and trained 25,000 prospective entrepreneurs through its Academy program, nurturing a new generation of business leaders.

Reflecting on his tenure, Groenevelt expressed pride in Qredits' achievements, highlighting its transformation into a powerful and socially responsible lender. He commended the dedication of Qredits' staff in making the organization's vision a reality and thanked stakeholders and financiers for their support in facilitating Qredits' growth.

The decision for Groenevelt to step down comes after careful consideration and consultation with Qredits' Supervisory Board. As the organization prepares for its next phase of development, the board will focus on expanding its composition and recruiting a new CEO to lead Qredits into the future.

In response to Groenevelt's departure, Marilou van Golstein Brouwers, Chair of the Supervisory Board, praised his leadership and dedication. She emphasized Qredits' commitment to ensuring a smooth transition and continuity of success for its customers, employees, financiers, and stakeholders.

Groenevelt's departure marks the end of an era for Qredits, but with a solid foundation in place and a clear vision for the future, the organization is poised to continue its mission of supporting entrepreneurship and driving economic prosperity.
