Local | By Correspondent January 29, 2025

WILLEMSTAD – Eight political parties in Curaçao will need to participate in the list support process on February 1 and 2 to qualify for the upcoming parliamentary elections. The Electoral Council of Curaçao (Konseho Supremo Elektoral, KSE) announced the requirement following the submission of candidate lists.

On Thursday, 14 parties officially registered for the elections scheduled for March 21. Six of these parties currently hold seats in parliament, while the remaining eight do not. To advance to the elections, the parties without a parliamentary seat must secure at least 848 supporting votes.

Eligible voters can cast their support between 8:00 AM and 8:00 PM at 12 designated voting locations across the island. A valid identification card, driver's license, or passport is required to participate. Each voter may support only one party.

The order of the parties on the ballot was determined by a lottery, with Movementu Kousa Promé securing the top position.
