WILLEMSTAD - The Secretary-General of Defense, Maarten Schurink, conducted a working visit to the ABC Islands last week. He met with personnel from the navy, army, and military police stationed on the Caribbean islands.
With a coastline of over 900 kilometers and significant air and sea traffic, the area is dynamic, and the threat is not merely hypothetical. Together with the Coast Guard, customs, police, and neighboring countries, Defense collaborates to ensure safety in the Caribbean region.
Secretary-General Maarten Schurink stated, "Especially in this time when we are preparing for an unforeseen conflict within five to ten years, we need each other. In the Kingdom, and beyond."
