THE HAGUE – The Dutch House of Representatives Committee for Kingdom Relations will embark on a ‘familiarization visit’ to Aruba, Bonaire, and Curaçao from May 4 to May 10.
Notably, the most active member of the committee, PVV representative Peter van Haasen, will not be part of the delegation. Van Haasen expressed his party’s concerns regarding the trip:
“The PVV believes this has all the signs of a luxury trip: a familiarization visit in May, while the Interparliamentary Kingdom Consultation (IPKO) was scheduled to take place in the Netherlands just a month later. At the time, it was not yet known that the IPKO in The Hague, following the earlier cancellation of the IPKO in Aruba due to the NATO summit, would be postponed to September.”
