WILLEMSTAD - The Committee for Kingdom Relations wants a government response to Amnesty's most recent report. In it, the human rights organization concludes that there is little improvement in the protection of Venezuelans in Curaçao. Despite small steps by the Curaçao authorities, Amnesty remains concerned about the human rights violations to which Venezuelans and even children are subjected.
Amnesty calls on Curaçao to make more of an effort for their rights and wants human rights to be central to the aid that the Netherlands provides to Curaçao. State Secretary of Kingdom Relations Alexandra Van Huffelen must now respond to the report.
