WILLEMSTAD - On Monday, August 26, the Dutch naval ship Zr.Ms. Tromp will dock in Willemstad, Curaçao, for the first time in 12 years. This will be the final port of call for the air defense and command frigate before it returns home after a six-month mission.

During the ceremonial arrival at 9:30 AM in the St. Anna Bay, the ship will fire a 21-gun salute in honor of the Kingdom's flag and the Governor of Curaçao. Fort Krommelijn will respond with an equal number of shots.

The mission of Zr.Ms. Tromp, named Pacific Archer, focused on promoting security and stability in the Pacific Ocean and strengthening international cooperation. The ship participated in various international exercises, including the largest maritime exercise, RIMPAC, near Hawaii, and was deployed for operations in the South China Sea and Bab-el-Mandeb.

The journey began in Den Helder, leading through the Mediterranean to the Indo-Pacific, with the ship now returning to the Netherlands via the Caribbean.
