THE HAGUE – From Monday to Wednesday, Minister of Defense Ruben Brekelmans (VVD) will be on a work visit to the Caribbean islands of Curaçao, Aruba, and Sint Maarten. The visit aims to familiarize the minister with the defense units stationed in the Caribbean, as reported by the Defense Command Navy.
During his visit to Curaçao, the minister will tour the Parera Naval Base, Suffisant Naval Barracks, and the Military Training Area at Wacao. In Aruba, he is scheduled to visit the Naval Barracks in Savaneta. On Wednesday, Brekelmans will visit the Coast Guard and the Marine Support Base at Point Blanche, the location of the Marine Detachment on Sint Maarten.
In addition to meeting with the various defense units, the minister will also meet with the Governors and Prime Ministers of the Dutch Caribbean countries.
