ORANJESTAD – Marines from the Netherlands’ Marine Squadron Carib and the U.S. 2nd Marine Division are training together this week in Aruba as part of the annual Caribbean Coastal Warrior exercise. This joint dive training is a key element of an exchange program between the Dutch and American marine corps units.
This year’s focus is on tactical diving using the rebreather system, which allows divers to stay underwater for extended periods without producing visible bubbles. This technology is particularly suited for quiet and covert operations in coastal areas, adding a strategic dimension to the exercise.
Specialized dive teams from the United States Marine Corps are conducting the training alongside marines from the Caribbean region. By training together, both forces enhance their cooperation and expand their operational knowledge.
The exercise is part of a broader partnership, with joint training sessions held annually both in the United States and the Caribbean.
