WILLEMSTAD - For the second consecutive year, "Dushi Aventura" has been crowned Group of the Year during an exciting award ceremony in the party hall of the WTC in Willemstad. This victory follows a spectacular performance in the Grand Parade of 2024, where "Dushi Aventura" stood out with their creativity and originality.
Anticipation had been high since last Sunday's Grand Parade, with speculations that "Dushi Aventura" would once again take the title. The group lived up to these expectations by winning in four categories and taking home the ultimate distinction. In addition to winning awards for the most creative and most original group, "Dushi Aventura" also received accolades for the best road piece and the best float. "Estreno" received the award for the best finishing, while the group "HOTD" finished as the second finalist, and "Estreno" was crowned the first finalist.
The announcement by master of ceremonies Giovanni Abath that "Dushi Aventura" had become the adult Group of the Year sparked a wave of celebration among the members. The Curaçao Carnival Development Foundation (FDKK) organized an unforgettable evening that not only focused on the competition but also on celebrating cultural expression and community spirit.
The evening was further filled with recognitions, including a special mention for Radio Hoyer, the 'Pillar' of Carnival, and Mr. Ravick Thode, the 'Bastion,' for their contributions to the festival. Other groups like "Konfèti Pronkèti," "I Love Hip Hop," and "Estreno Carnival Group" were also honored for their achievements in various parade categories.
